Gary Grimslid Obituary

Gary N. Grimslid, 82 years old, passed away at 3:51 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Sprenger Health Care of Mishawaka, Indiana. Gary was born on May 12, 1937 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to the late James Donald and Margaret (Gollnick) Grimslid. He has lived locally since 2017, after returning from Florida.

Gary retired in 1993 after 39 years of employment in retail management for Sears. He was a former member of First English Lutheran Church and grew up attending Bethel Lutheran Church in La Crosse, WI.

Gary is survived by his three children, Tami Grimslid of South Bend; Greg (Pam) Grimslid of Ada, OH; and Mark (Ellen) Grimslid of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Kyle, Dustin, Erik, Alyssa, Sarah, and Jennifer; six great-grandchildren, Arlo, Luca, Oliver, Marlee, Parker and Lydia; two sisters, Shirley (Roger) Molzahn of La Crosse, and Sharon (Raymond) Opitz of Onalaska, WI; and his brother, Gale Grimslid of Onalaska.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Gary N. Grimslid may be donated to River Bend Cancer Services, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615.
