Gentry Calvin Dycus was born on August 26, 1926 to John and Bernice (Gossett) Dycus in Rutherford, Tennessee. Left Trenton to come to Mishawaka in 1942 to work at Ball Band (Uniroyal). Gentry left to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged May 21, 1946. Returning to Mishawaka Gentry worked for the Mishawaka Utilities Electric Department retiring in 1989.
Gentry belonged to the Mishawaka Eagles # 2083, American Legion # 161 and V.F.W. Post #360.
On December 12, 1947 Gentry married Betty L. Picking. Betty preceded him in death on November 28, 2008. Gentry is survived by his son Jim (Kerri) Dycus of Osceola, IN., three grandsons and four great grandsons.
A private graveside service will be held with a celebration of life at a later date.
