George Marion Moffett, 75 years old, passed away at 12:25 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. George was born on March 6, 1950 in South Bend to the late Atley and Dora (Barks) Moffett. He has been a lifelong resident of New Carlisle and Lakeville. On June 8, 1996 in Terre Coupee, IN, George and Kathryn Sue Donahue were united in marriage.
Along with Kathy, his loving wife of 29 years, George is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Ryan) Ross of Bremen, IN; son, Daniel Moffett of Eugene, OR; step-daughter, Angie (Brad) Thomas of Argos, IN; fourteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren with one on the way; and his sister, Kathryn (Rick) Deere of Greencastle, IN. Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Lynn Kusmiez, and his sister, Irene Wozniak.
George was a truck driver and retired in 2005 after forty years. He served his country with the United States Army. George was a member of the Lakeville American Legion, Lakeville Lions Club and a member of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, where military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty.
