George Warrick

George Warrick, age 94, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026 at Hospice House in South Bend, Indiana. Born and raised in South Bend, George was a proud graduate of Riley High School.  He went on to work as a chef at the University of Notre Dame for 17 years, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of colleagues and students alike.  Throughout South Bend and beyond George became affectionately known as the “Cloc Doc.”  There seemed to be no clock or watch he could not repair.  His remarkable skill, patience, and craftsmanship made him a familiar and beloved figure in the community for many years. In 1985, George married the love of his life, Nancy London.  Together they shared a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, family and friends until Nancy’s passing in 2018.   Their devotion to one another was an inspiration to all who knew them.  George never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone.  A faithful member of Coalbush Methodist Church, he could be found singing every Sunday.  His love of music followed him wherever he went, bringing joy to family gatherings, church events, and even the nurses who cared for him.  His warm smile and beautiful singing voice touched countless lives.  George was a devoted sports fan.  He spent many happy years cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Notre Dame athletics.  He was rarely seen without a hat displaying his loyalty to his teams.  He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.  Preceding him in death were his parents, Percy Warrick and Lorretta Banta; siblings, Joyce Clough, Percy Warrick, Jr., and Paul Warrick.  He is survived by the woman he affectionately called his daughter, Paula Abraham; her children Alicia Alkire and her family Charles, Eliana Izabella and Rowan, and David Hess and his family, Emily, Cory, and Abraham.  He is also survived by Paula’s sisters, Mary Albright and Janis Logsdon and their families. Also surviving him is his sister-in-law Nancy L. Warrick, nieces and nephews, Karen Olrik (Chris), Jennifer Clough (Turi), Kathy Clough, Deborah Bennett (Eric), Tim Warrick (Christina), along with many dear friends, whose lives where enriched by his kindness, friendship and love.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 23 at 11:00 at Saint Joseph Valley Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Homes – Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
