Gertrud “Trudy” Leonarda Knoblock, 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Trudy was born on April 13, 1942, in Kerkrade, Netherlands, to Willem Jeha and Gertrude (Steinbusch) Jeha. On October 6, 1964, also in Kerkrade, she married the love of her life, Thomas James Knoblock. Their marriage was one of deep devotion and partnership until Tom’s passing in 2016.
An avid runner, Trudy completed many marathons over the years, a testament to her determination and strength. She loved traveling- especially trips to St. Pete Beach/Pass-a-Grille, Traverse City, Florida and back home to the Netherlands to see her family. She found great joy in her dogs, her work as an interior decorator and, above all, her grandchildren. She was known for her lively energy, independence, strong spirit, and could always be seen with a smile on her face.
Trudy is survived by her children, Audrey (James) Rush of Osceola, Indiana, and Mark (Tracy) Knoblock of Mishawaka, Indiana; three grandchildren, Aryelle (Connor), Nathan, and Nicholas (Cassidy); two great-grandchildren, Miles and Alexandra; plus one great-grandson on the way; and her sister-in-law, Fien Jeha, in the Netherlands.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Tom; and her brothers, Leo Jeha and Joep Jeha.
A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Homes – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana, with a service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Trudy will be entombed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana, in a private family service.
