Gianfranco Beraldo, affectionately known as Franco to his loved ones, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was born on September 27, 1944, in Treviso, Italy to Tullio and Leonilde (Brera) Beraldo. Franco is survived by his children, Sara (Michele) Rizzolo, and Leonardo Beraldo, his grandsons, Giovanni and Giacomo Rizzolo, his partner of 40 years, Ann Newman, his sister Maria Luisa (Fulvio) Barison, and his niece and nephews, Roger Barison, Lauretta (Claudio) Furlanetto, and Paolo (Annamaria) Beraldo. Franco and Ann createda beautiful blended family that included Ann's daughter Penny (Michael) Graves, and grandchildren, Ava Longley, Taylor, Tanner, and Matthew Graves, and great grandchildren Piper, Viola, and Elliot. His family held a special place in his heart. Franco had a close bond with his cousins Carla (Franco) Andretti of Treviso, Italy, John (Angela) Derda, Susanna Wilson, Diana (Gerry) Orosz and special friends Chris and Deb Neidermyer. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Pier Giorgio (Maria) Beraldo, and his cousins Amalia (Leonard) Derda, Rebecca McKee, and Carlo Derda. Franco's journey led him to the United States in 1984, where he quickly became a part of his cousin's business Derda Inc. working as the lead machinery technician alongside Leonard and John. Franco cherished his weekly visits and phone calls with family and friends, ensuring that no matter the distance, the bonds remained strong. He also had a penchant for magic, delighting in the smiles he brought to faces young and old with his clever tricks. A Mass for Franco will be held at St. Pius Catholic Church in Granger, Indiana at 9:45 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Friends and family may visit beginning at 9:00 am in the vestibule.
