Goldie M. Ivarson Harrison

Goldie M. Ivarson Harrison, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the age of 99.  She was born on February 26, 1922 in Brown Branch, MO to the late Tom Dechard and Sylvia (Holcomb) Hudson.  Goldie worked in accounts receivable at Associates Investments and also as a waitress at Morris Park Country Club for many years.

In February of 1941 she was united in marriage to Hans Ivarson, who preceded her in death on May 25, 1990.  Goldie would go on to meet and marry her second husband George Harrison in Tennessee, who also preceded her in death in 2009.  Goldie will be fondly remembered for her love of cooking and canning her own food.   Family and friends have wonderful memories of the family gatherings at her house where she would put on family meals for everyone.

Goldie is survived by her son, Vince (Karen (Mellquist) Ream) Ivarson of South Bend, along with her 4 grandchildren, Erik (Lauren) Ivarson of South Bend, Britt Albert of Tempe, AZ, Jason (Nicole) Eisele of Tyrone, GA, and Scotty (Lisa) Eisele of Peachtree City, GA, and 11 great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her sister, Dorothy Wolverton of Comstock, MI and brother, Henry Hudson of Kalamazoo, MI, and a host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ingrid Ivarson Eisele, sisters, June Yost, Morene Sinke, Barbara Blackmon, and brothers, Merle Honicutt, and Otho Honicutt.

Services for Goldie will be at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN 46614.  Friends may visit with the family beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the time of the services.  Private burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend.
