Gregory L. Ash

Gregory L. Ash, age 62, of Granger, Indiana, passed away on June 12, 2026. He was born on October 29, 1963, in Elkhart, Indiana, and lived a life marked by love, creativity, faith, and devotion to his family.

Gregory was the beloved son of Judy (Lebo) Ash and the late Jerry Ash. He was a devoted father to Teigan Ash, Macenzie Ash, Haley (Chase) Joseph, and Maddi Ash, and he cherished each of his daughters deeply. He is also survived by his brother, Brian Ash, and by his former wives, Michelle Drotar and Cindi Ortiz. Gregory’s family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in being present for the people he loved most.

Gregory graduated from Penn High School with the class of 1982. He carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance throughout his life. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his warm spirit, and the way he could make others feel comfortable and cared for. He had a gift for conversation and a remarkable memory for random facts, something his children often teased him about with affection.

Gregory had many interests that reflected his joyful and curious nature. He loved to fish and found peace in time spent outdoors. He enjoyed going to concerts and listening to bands such as Radiohead. He was artistic and took pleasure in drawing, painting, and sketching. He was also a good mushroom hunter and enjoyed a Sunday drive around town. He liked playing ultimate frisbee and appreciated the simple pleasures of life that brought people together.

Above all else, Gregory treasured spending quality time with his family. Whether he was sharing a meal, enjoying a drive, or simply being present in the moment, he made those around him feel valued. His strong faith was an important part of his life and guided him through both joyful and difficult times. Gregory will be remembered for his kind heart, his creative spirit, his sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family.

A time to visit with the family will be held on Friday, June 19th, 2026, from 3-5 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
