Harold Wayne Stokes, age 82, of Niles, Michigan born in McCrory, Arkansas, passed away on August 4, 2026. He was born on May 7, 1944, in McCrory, Arkansas, and lived a life marked by quiet strength and a generous spirit that touched those around him.
Harold proudly served his country as an Army veteran, carrying with him the values of duty, discipline, and perseverance throughout his life. After his military service, he remained a steady and dependable presence to those who knew him. He was the kind of man who believed in doing things the right way, and he earned the respect of family, friends, and neighbors through his steady example and kind heart.
He found joy in the simple things that made a house feel like home. Harold loved ducks and was known for the many duck decorations and collectibles he enjoyed displaying over the years. His collection of wooden ducks was especially meaningful to him, and it reflected both his personality and the comfort he found in familiar, cherished things. He also enjoyed reading and spent time volunteering at Lakeland Hospital, where his willingness to help others was appreciated by many.
He is survived by his son, Brian (Lance) Stokes; his daughter, Tammie (Eugene) Wilhelm; his granddaughter, Cassie Washington; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind other beloved family members and extended relatives who will remember him with love and gratitude. He was preceded in death by his father, D. Those who knew Harold will remember his warm presence and the quiet ways he showed care for others. He did not seek attention, but he left a lasting impression through his kindness, his loyalty, and the love he gave to those closest to him.
