Heather Marie Shock, 42, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026, at her parents’ home under hospice care.
Heather was born on March 13, 1984, in South Bend, IN, and lived a life marked by kindness, creativity, and selflessness. She was the beloved daughter of Richard L. and Susan M. (Hatfield) Davis of Mishawaka, Indiana, and the cherished wife of David E. Shock. Heather was a devoted mother to her daughter, Chloe M. Shock, and her sons, Clayton M. Shock and Charlie M. Shock. She was also a loving sister to Alicia (Thomas) Zipser of South Bend, and a treasured granddaughter to Phyllis Pratt. She was preceded in death by her twin sons, who passed away in 2010, as well as her grandparents, Lawrence Hatfield, Jeanette Campbell, Randall Davis, Sr., and Ralph Pratt.
Heather graduated from Indiana University South Bend and went on to build a career as a dental hygienist. In her work, she was known for her gentle spirit and her ability to make others feel comfortable and cared for. She had a natural gift for making people smile, and that gift extended far beyond her profession into every part of her life.
Heather was a creative person who found joy in the simple and meaningful things that reflected her personality. She enjoyed kayaking, reading, making custom and unique pens, and all things Disney. She was also an affectionate and emphatic person with an infectious smile. Those who knew Heather will remember her as kind, creative, and selfless, qualities that were evident in the way she loved her family and cared for others.
Heather’s life was one of devotion, warmth, and quiet strength. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her bright spirit, and the many ways she brought joy to those around her. Her kind and caring personality lit up anyone that she happened to cross paths with, her radiant smile could brighten anyone’s day, and she would share that gift to all who welcomed it. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with her and the lasting impact of her presence in their lives.
Heather was an incredible mother, which was a role that she dreamed of and then cherished her entire life. She loved her children, husband, family, and friends with her whole heart and was equally loved in return. Heather Marie Shock leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Most importantly her love for God was and still is forefront in her everyday life. Her fearless ability to talk to anyone about Christ, and follow up with praying for each one’s souls, was the best example for us all.
Her presence and light will be missed, but she lives on in our hearts and memories every day. Though an impossible goodbye to share, we know it is not for forever.
She and her family have felt great blessings and thankfulness from everyone that has supported them throughout the past three and a half years. Especially to one Dr. Shaikh who performed great care that allowed her family as much time and quality of life as possible.
No services will be held at this time. Palmer Funeral Home—River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
