Henry "Andy" Anderson Taylor, Jr.

Henry Anderson "Andy" Taylor, Jr. passed away at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at his home.  He was born on June 19, 1953 in Petersburg, VA to the late Henry Anderson and Myrtis "Tootsie" (Smith) Taylor, Sr.  On December 20, 1977 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Normal, IL, he was united in marriage to the former, Carolyn Paxton. 

Andy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Taylor; son, Matthew (Christy) Taylor of Brevard, NC; daughter, Holly (Daniel) Leeper of St. Charles, IL; six grandchildren, Braden, Bryce and Ian Taylor, Carson, Malachi and Jason Leeper; two sisters, Cindy (Wayne) Bradley of Sutherland, VA and Rebekah (Andy) Blanks of Chesterfield, VA and brother, Mel (Ann) Taylor of VA.

Andy received a master’s degree in Sacred Music and was the Minister of Music at Community Baptist Church and School for over 30 years—a true example of a faithful man. His life was driven by a deep love for God and others, and his support and counsel will forever be cherished.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Community Baptist Church, 5715 Miami Road, South Bend, IN.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend and one hour prior to the services Monday at church.
