Homer Norman Stogsdill Jr., age 76, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026. He was born on May 19, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Homer N. Stogsdill and Lucille (Hopper) Stogsdill.
On December 2, 1972, Homer married the love of his life, Judith Stogsdill. Together they shared over 53 years of marriage, building a life centered around love, laughter, and family.
Homer is survived by his devoted wife, Judith; his daughter, Teresa (Mark) Gaddis of Greenfield, Indiana; his stepson, John (Denise) Kraus of South Bend, Indiana; his two bonus daughters, Jennifer Banicki and Elizabeth Jones; and his cherished grandchildren, Dawson and Alyssa, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Norma Swanson of Niles, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Connie Warner; and his brothers, Roger Stogsdill and Ralph Stogsdill.
Homer had a passion for golf and enjoyed many rounds on the course. He loved playing euchre, cheering on the Chicago Bears, watching racecars, and spending time outdoors—especially mowing his yard, which he took great pride in. In his younger years, he played in a softball league and carried that love of sports throughout his life. Above all, Homer treasured time spent with his grandchildren and family.
