Sra. Ilia B. Chaparro Ríos, de 61 años, falleció en el Memorial Hospital en South Bend la tarde del lunes 5 de abril de 2021. Ilia nació el 7 de abril de 1959 en Aguada, Puerto Rico de los fallecidos Fermín Chaparro y Elba Gladis Ríos.

En 1975, Ilia se unió en matrimonio con el Sr. Wilfredo Lorenzo Crespo, en Puerto Rico. Ilia pasó la mayor parte de su vida en Puerto Rico, mudándose a South Bend en 2015. Fue una madre, abuela, esposa, hermana y amiga dedicada y amorosa. Todos los que la conocieron la extrañarán mucho.

Además de su amado esposo durante 47 años, Wilfredo Lorenzo Crespo de South Bend, a Ilia le sobreviven sus hijos, Wilfredo Joel Lorenzo, Yamil Lorenzo y Wilberto Lorenzo, todos de South Bend; un nieto, Delvis Joel Lorenzo; cinco hermanos: Elba Nidia Chaparro, Marta Chaparro, Edgar Chaparro, Lourdes Chaparro y Julio Alberto Chaparro; así como una gran cantidad de familiares y amigos.

Además de sus dos padres, Ilia fue precedida en la muerte por un hermano, José Enrique Chaparro.

Según los deseos de la familia, actualmente no hay servicios públicos programados. La familia puede optar por reunirse en privado en una fecha posterior para celebrar la vida de Ilia. Mrs. Ilia B. Chaparro Rios, 61, passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend on the afternoon of Monday, April 5, 2021. Ilia was born on April 7, 1959 in Aguada, Puerto Rico to the late Fermin Chaparro and Elba Gladis Rios.

In 1975, Ilia was united in marriage to Mr. Wilfredo Lorenzo Crespo, in Puerto Rico. Ilia spent most of her life in Puerto Rico, relocating to South Bend in 2015. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her loving husband of 46 years, Wilfredo Lorenzo Crespo of South Bend, Ilia is survived by her sons, Wilfredo Joel Lorenzo, Yamil Lorenzo and Wilberto Lorenzo, all of South Bend; a grandchild, Delvis Joel Lorenzo; five siblings: Elba Nidia Chaparro, Marta Chaparro, Edgar Chaparro, Lourdes Chaparro and Julio Alberto Chaparro; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

In addition to both of her parents, Ilia was preceded in death by a brother, Jose Enrique Chaparro.

Per the family’s wishes, no public services are currently scheduled. The family may choose to gather privately at a later date to celebrate Ilia’s life.
