Irene Weber Obituary

Irene (Lopez) Weber, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Mishawaka, Indiana, concluding a life rich with love and devotion to her family and community. Born on October 15, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, Irene's warmth and vibrant spirit brought joy to everyone she encountered.

With the steadfast love of her husband, the late LaVern Weber, whom she married on November 10, 1967, at Fort Bliss, Texas, Irene cultivated a home filled with laughter, empathy, and the cherished traditions that kept their family knit together even after LaVern's passing on October 4, 1995. She was a beacon of resilience and love as a daughter to the late Jose Lopez and Lorene (Allen) Lopez, and a beloved sibling to Mary Vasquez, the late Lorene Burnett, the late Dorothy Lopez, and the late Jose Lopez.

Irene's life was marked by unbridled joy in simple pleasures. She was a formidable skip-bo player who loved nothing more than a lively game surrounded by family and friends. Her evenings were often spent engrossed in episodes of Gunsmoke, with the narratives of the Old West unfolding in her living room. Irene's faith was a cornerstone of her life, as she was an active member of The Vineyard Church, where she embraced her spirituality with unwavering commitment.

Her generosity of spirit was evident in her penchant for volunteering. Irene was a familiar and welcome face at various charitable organizations, including the local homeless shelter where she served food and shared smiles in equal measure. Her legacy of service and compassion remains an inspiration to all who knew her.

Irene's love will live on through her devoted children, Mary Weber and Wayne (Heather) Weber; her adoring grandchildren, Levi (Chris) Bush and Wayne (Jamie) Weber; and her caring sister, Mary Vasquez. Each family gathering, each act of kindness, and every moment of communal faith will serve as a tribute to Irene's enduring impact on the lives she touched.
