Isaac David Porogi, 21 years old, passed away at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at his home after a courageous battle fighting Osteosarcoma. Isaac was born on May 12, 1999 in LaPorte and has lived in Walkerton since he was in 5th grade. He attended North Liberty Elementary School, graduated from John Glenn High School and attended the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne.
Isaac is survived by his mother, Nicole “Nikki” Porogi of Walkerton; father, Roy Allen Johnson, III; his younger brother, Royce Johnson at home; and his grandparents, John and Jeanine Porogi of New Carlisle and Roy and Evelyn Johnson, II of LaPorte. He is also survived by his two aunts, Heather Trobaugh of North Liberty and Toni Johnson of LaPorte; and his cousins, William Nevaeh, Hannah and Jordan. Isaac was loved and supported by many classmates, friends and the communities of Walkerton, North Liberty and surrounding areas. He was preceded in death by one cousin, Ariah.
Isaac had so many jobs and roles he fulfilled, yet never got tired nor complained. Isaac is a great son, an excellent brother, a super role model, a good father figure, outstanding athlete/ student, and an overall amazing person. He has inspired so many with his positive attitude, always keeping Faith, and never giving up. He is one of the strongest men and a true hero. We all are very blessed to have him in our lives. Isaac is the most caring and kindest person, always thinking of others instead of himself. Isaac battled and fought so hard and was determined to be here for his mother’s Birthday. He wanted to throw her a surprise party and that is what he did. Over the past 21 years we have built so many memories that will be cherished forever. Isaac’s overall dream is that one day they will find a cure for osteosarcoma. His favorite bible verse is Romans 8:18: “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (KJV)” Isaac might not be here physically but will always be with us spiritually and will always remain in our hearts. This isn’t good-bye it is just see you later. In the meantime have fun fishing and playing basketball.
