Jack R Linder Sr.

Jack R. Linder, Sr., 83 years old, passed away at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020 at his home.  Jack was born on May 15, 1936 in Beloit, Kansas to the late Boyd and Agnes (Gildersleeve) Linder.  He has resided in Elkhart and South Bend since 1969.  On July 4, 1984 in South Bend, Jack and Mary L. (Morin) Tindall were united in marriage.

Along with his loving wife, Mary, survivors include his five children, Patricia (Scott) Shafer of Elkhart, Mary (Lamar) Slabaugh of Nappanee, Susan Linder of Ft. Myers, FL, Karen Hargrove of Estero, FL and Jack R. (Suzanne) Linder, Jr. of Oak Forest, IL; three step-children, Charles Tindall of South Bend, Michael (Maureen) Tindall of Mishawaka, and Susan (John) Lopotko of Arizona; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; sister, Kay (Robert) Seamon of Washington, MO; and brother, Jerry (Deronda) Linder of Newbury Park, California. 

Jack retired from Indiana Bell where he worked as an engineer for many years.  He proudly served his country with the United State Navy.  Jack enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.  He also enjoyed sporting events, especially baseball. 

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend where friends may visit with the family from 4:00-6:00 p.m.  Pastor Jason Rohde will officiate. Military rites will conclude the services.
