James “Jim” Carl Boren, 73, passed away September 9, 2019 at Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. Jim was born November 26, 1945 to the late Ralph and Gertrude (Marciniak) Boren.
Jim served honorably in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a diesel mechanic for Roadway Trucking Company before retiring.
Jim is survived by two daughters, Tammy Boren-Guriel of Mishawaka, Indiana and Misty Boren of Dallas Texas; two sons, Jerry Boren of Little Elm, Texas and James Boren of Gainesville, Texas; twelve grandchildren; Melissa, Andrew, Giles, Gilesa, Michael, Kayla, Peyton, Haydin, Brody, Blake, Dylan, and Jake; seven great grandchildren Amila, Amyra, Giovanni, Aariyah, Aaliyah, Antonio, and Sunny; four sisters, Darlene Boren-Ford of Granger, Indiana, Pamela (Terry Hoof) Modlin of Niles, Michigan, Dianne (Irvin) Huenerkopf and Rebecca Adrian both of South Bend; and three brothers, Ernest (Frank) Boren, Russell (Lynn) Boren and Jeff (Kimberly) Boren all of South Bend; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim shared a special bond with his nephew Jeremy Miller of South Bend, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his son, Gregory Boren and his brother Frederick Allen Boren.
Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend IN. 46615. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the Funeral Home.
