James A. Goodson, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his home with his family by his side at the age of 50. James was born on May 2, 1972, to the late Don “Andy” and Marjorie S. (Lehman) Goodson in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
On August 2, 2019, in South Bend he was united in marriage to April Sniadecki who survives. Along with his wife, James is survived by his sons, Andrew and Leo Goodson of New Carlisle, stepdaughter, Madilyn Kowalski of South Bend and his sister, Sarah Goodson of Fort Wayne, IN.
James worked as a project specialist for Lowe’s. He was a Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame Irish, and South Bend Cubs fan. Over the years he enjoyed cookouts, camping, and a good cornhole game.
It is well known that James never met a stranger, he could make anyone feel like he knew them his whole life. All those who had the pleasure of knowing him knew that James loved selflessly. He was truly a give-the-shirt-off-his-back kind of man who lent a helping hand to anyone in need whether that meant moving a couch for a family member after work or helping a friend at the bar in the middle of the night. In his too-short 50 years, we couldn’t have asked for a better, kinder, or more loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
Memorial services for James will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16 at Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Rd, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
