James "Jim" Allen Kilgore

James "Jim" A. Kilgore, 80, passed away on June 26, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories that will continue to live on through his family and friends.

On April 16, 1968, Jim married the love of his life, Charlotte, at Hitchman Methodist Church in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Together they built a marriage of enduring love and partnership that spanned more than 58 years. 

Jim was a devoted husband to Charlotte and a proud father to Brian (Shelley) Kilgore and Scott Kilgore and daughter-in-law Katie Pulver. He was an adoring grandfather to Drew (Heather) Kilgore, Alex (Morgan) Kilgore, Lauren (Spencer) Thompson, Liam Kilgore, and Logan Kilgore. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, with two more eagerly anticipated additions to the family. 

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his military service, he spent time at General George S. Patton's former headquarters in Germany and was honored to serve on the Honor Guard. He carried the values of duty, service, and dedication with him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Jim enjoyed a long career as a machine repairman at National Standard, where his mechanical talent and strong work ethic earned the respect of those who worked alongside him.

Outside of work, Jim's passion was anything with an engine. He loved restoring and working on classic cars and motorcycles, finding joy in bringing old machines back to life. Whether he was in the garage with a wrench in hand or sharing stories with family and friends, Jim's steady presence, sense of humor, and willingness to help others made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Myra Butler, Betty Johnson, and Quinton Kilgore. He is survived by his sister, Patty Kilgore.

Jim will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his quiet strength, his love of family, and the countless lives he touched along the way. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the lessons he passed down, and the many memories that will forever bring smiles to those who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
