James "Jim" W. Sult

James “Jim” W. Sult, 68, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

Jim was born on May 31, 1949 in North Liberty, Indiana to Ted and Elizabeth (Woods) Sult and has remained a lifelong resident of the North Liberty and Mishawaka area.  He graduated from Greene Township High School and begin working as a welder for Mishawaka Steel Company where he worked for 25 years.  Jim was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing in bass tournaments.  He also was a part of “Mud Boggers” and liked riding off road vehicles. Jim had a great love for his many cats.

Jim is survived by his loving significant other of 37 years, Pat McClanahan of Mishawaka. He is also survived by his daughter, Patricia Strahl of North Carolina; son, Mike (Joani) Sult of Mishawaka; sister, Lea (Greg) Groves of Michigan; brother, Ted Sult of North Liberty; mother, Elizabeth Sult of North Liberty; and grandson, Christopher Michael Lee Sult.  Also surviving are Pat’s children, Kerry Morrow of South Bend, Sue (Jay) Harwood of Mishawaka, Richard (Kim) Blake of Niles, and Tim (Laurie) Blake of Elkhart.  Jim was preceded in death by his father, Ted Sult.

A Celebration of Life Service will be from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at De Amici's Club, 302 W 11th St., Mishawaka, IN 46544.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or to Pet refuge, 4626 Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN 46614.  Palmer Funeral Homes River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
