Jane D. Gervais, 91 years old, passed away Sunday June 6, 2021 at StoryPoint in Granger. She was born January 8, 1930 in Mishawaka, IN to the late Michael and Genevieve (Michalski) Charnoski.
Jane was a longtime resident at 209 Virginia Street, Mishawaka. She attended St. Monica’s Grade School and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1948. She worked at Bendix, Whitehall, and most recently Crown International Corporation before retiring. Jane was a charter member of Queen of Peace Parish since 1954, as well as a charter member of the Rosary Society. One of Jane’s favorite pastime was wedding cake decorating – which she has done for over 50 years. Jane was also an excellent seamstress, crafter, and gardener. She loved spending time planting flowers. Jane also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and would always be there for their sporting events.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Roberto) Escobedo of Mishawaka; sons, Larry Gervais of Cumming, GA, Brian Gervais of Chula Vista, CA, Gary Gervais of Mishawaka and Scott Gervais of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Alek (Ashley) Escobedo, Kaley (Austin) Coy, Erik Escobedo, Chase (Brittany) Gervais, and Madison Gervais; and one awesome great-grandson, Colt Escobedo. Jane is also survived by her sister, Lorraine (Robert) Gill; brother-in-law, Jack Cato; sister-in-laws, Eleanor Tengelitsch and Janet Gervais; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Cato; sister and brother-in-laws, Virginia and Chuck Waggoner, and Marceil and Harold Gervais; brother-in-laws, Albert Tengelitsch and Earl Gervais; and nephew, Vincent Cato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Rd, Mishawaka, IN. Burial will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Palmer Funeral Homes – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N Main St, Mishawaka, as well as an hour prior to Mass on Saturday at the church. There will be a rosary at the funeral home on Friday, June 11 starting at 7:00pm.
