Jeane M. (Myers) Riley

Jeane M. Riley, 93, of South Bend passed away Thursday evening, January 7th following a lengthy illness.  Jeane was born September 1, 1927 in Delphi, IN to the late Lodemia (Chapman) and Homer A. Myers and had lived in South Bend since 1963 coming from Delphi.  On October 3, 1947 in Delphi as Jeane Myers she married William F. Riley who preceded her in death in March of 1999.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Donna M. Ward, Wayne L. Myers, William M. Myers, and Robert L. Myers.  Jeane is survived by her daughter, Gail J. Crussemeyer (Steve) of Elkhart, IN; sisters, Mary Crary of Delphi, and Connie Hathaway (Kenneth) of Lafayette, IN, and sister- in-law, Jane Myers of Logansport, IN.

Jeane had been employed as an Optometrist Assistant for Dr. Richard Stuller and Dr. Ronald Snyder. During Jeane’s lifetime she was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church of South Bend and was a member of the United Methodist Women and worked for many years at The Budget Corner.  She was a member of Psi Iota Xi sorority for many years and helped with the sororities philanthropic goals.

Jeane’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Carol and Jim McCaffery and the employees of Carol’s Care, LLC for all you have done during a difficult time in Jeane’s life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 13th in the Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer Chapel 521 N. William St. with Rev. Mathew Landry of First United Methodist Church, South Bend officiating.  Committal services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday in the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
