Jeffery Brown Obituary

Jeffery Wayne Brown, 64 of Edwardsburg, Michigan passed away peacefully at his home on January 21, 2023.  He was born October 21, 1958, in Greenfield, Indiana to Charles and Lula (Sleeth) Brown.  He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Brown; mother, Lula Brown; sister, Cheryl Gossett; and great granddaughter, Kennedi Nicole Smith (born sleeping January 6, 2023).  He is survived by his fiancé and love of his life, Bonnie Hicks; daughter, Rachael (David) Morrow of Carthage, Indiana; son, Billy (Delynn) Britton of South Bend, Indiana; daughter, Melissa (Ryan) Hicks of South Bend, Indiana; daughter, Nicole (Michael) Gryfik of South Bend, Indiana; sister, Crystal (Dennis) Baker of Charlottesville, Indiana; brother, Ray (Kim) Brown of Knightstown, Indiana; grandchildren, Marti Burton 20, Tiara Mosley 26, Alexia Britton 26, Makyla Thomas 23, Aubrey Britton 23, Arianna Granado 16, Meisha Gryfik 15, Krishka Gryfik 13; great grandchildren, Ronni 3 months, Adelynn 7, Bayne 6, Maleigha 5, Kaylee 3, Aurora 2, Nalani 2, and Amari 1.  He is also survived by Margaret Brittain (fiance’s mother) and by several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jeff was employed as an Extruder Operator at Colorimetric alongside Bonnie for many years.  In his years there he held many responsibilities, including working as a team leader and a forklift operator.  Jeff took pride in his work with Colorimetric and always worked with great work ethic.  Jeff also met Rick Riffle at Colorimetric who was his boss, but quickly became one of his best friends.  They enjoyed playing cards and fishing together.

Jeff was a 1977 graduate of Knightstown High School where he excelled as an athlete.  During Jeff’s high school career, he played football, baseball, wrestling and track.  He held school records in track for many years after his high school career.

Jeff enjoyed fishing with his love, Bonnie and his lifelong buddy, Tony Moore.  He enjoyed time outside, spending time with his family, playing pool, music, cards (including penny poker) and could play the best air guitar you’ve ever seen!  Jeff also cared for his mother in her final years.  Jeff loved playing with his grandkids and loved taking them to the park and spending time with them.  In his younger years, you could find him outside working, fishing, playing frisbee, playing guitar (and even singing a little).  He enjoyed laughing and making people laugh. He was extremely good at it!

The family will be having a Celebration of life for Jeff when the weather warms up and it can be held outdoors next to a fishing spot.  Jeff will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. Palmer Funeral Homes – River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
