Jeffrey (Jeff) Lynn Botich, 72, of Granger, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 22, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late John Botich Sr. and Mary Lou (Jefferies) Botich, Jeff spent his life rooted in northern Indiana. On October 9, 1987, he married Linda Foreman, with whom he shared many years of love, partnership, and family life.
The greatest pride and highlight of Jeff’s life was his family. In addition to his loving wife of 38 years, Jeff is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Botich of South Bend; his daughter, Nicole Botich of Indianapolis; his sons, Brian (Michelle) Botich of Niles and Brandon (Misty) Botich of Elkhart; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his brother, John (Donna) Botich Jr. of Lakeville; his father-in-law, William (Bill) Foreman of Edwardsburg; sisters-in-law Cynthia (Dave) Osborne of Edwardsburg and Sheryl Foreman of Edwardsburg; brothers-in-law John (Avona) Foreman of Edwardsburg and Timothy (Anne Marie) Penkala of San Diego, CA; and four nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father; his mother-in-law, Patricia (Pat) Foreman; and his niece, Ambrosia Foreman.
After graduating from the former Jackson High School in 1971, Jeff took a summer job at AM General, which turned into a 45-year career. He took pride not only in his work but also in the friendships he built during his time there. His strong work ethic, problem-solving mind, and commitment to excellence defined his professional life while earning the respect of many.
When not at home or work, Jeff could often be found at Elbel Park or Erskine golf courses multiple times a week, playing an average of 90 rounds annually. The golf course was where Jeff found joy, relaxation, and close friendships with his dedicated golf group. Golf also brought Jeff some of his most prized accomplishments, including multiple holes-in-one.
Jeff brought joy and laughter to many throughout his life. He will be remembered for his unconditional love and devotion to family, his steady presence, and the quiet strength he showed each day. He will also be remembered for the kindness, loyalty, and humility through which he impacted the lives of others. Jeff’s impact continued even after his passing through his tissue donation, which helped restore sight for two individuals and aided in skin healing for breast cancer patients. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
To know Jeff was to know his love for his dachshunds—or, as he affectionately called them, “the girls”—whose companionship brought him constant happiness and entertainment.
