Jeffrey Tadajewski Obituary

Jeffrey “Jeff” Allan Tadajewski, age 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at his home.

Jeff was born on July 7, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Kenneth and Janice (Wrobek) Tadajewski. He was raised in Detroit and carried a deep love for his hometown throughout his life.

On May 11, 1985, Jeff married Julia A. Halasz-Tadajewski in Detroit. Their marriage was a lasting partnership built on love, family, and cherished memories.

Jeff is survived by his devoted wife, Julia; his two daughters, Amanda Hinton (Ron Ward, and children Gus and Ruth) of Boston, Massachusetts, and Rebecca Nelson (Graham) of South Bend, Indiana; and his beloved granddaughter, Blake Elizabeth Nelson.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Catherine Halasz (Dan West) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and his brother-in-law, James Halasz (Sue) of Lakeville, Indiana; as well as his niece, Hope Elliott (Mark, Murphy and Landen) of South Bend, Indiana, and his nephews, Glenn Halasz (Mary Catherine Bort) of Chicago, Illinois, and Alex Black of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

After graduating from Michigan State University, Jeff dedicated more than 40 years of his career to AM General in Mishawaka, Indiana.

Jeff will be remembered for his love of cooking and his passion for sports—especially his unwavering support to his MSU Spartans (GO GREEN) and all Detroit teams. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family, who were the center of his life.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to those closest to him.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 226 N. Hill Street, South Bend, IN on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 a.m., followed by a Catholic Mass.

In Jeff’s name, donations may be made to Saint Joseph Grade School in South Bend and Caring Cove Hospice in Mishawaka.
