Jennifer L. Horsley (age 73) went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2023. She was surrounded by many who loved her in her home with her beloved dogs, Greta and Trooper.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Robert E Adams, her mother Willa Adams, and her brother Todd Adams (Jane).
Jennifer is survived by her former spouse John H. Horsley, her son John A. Horsley (Susan), her grandchildren McKenzie Horsley, John Gentry Horsley, Paige Horsley, and her brothers Bob Adams (Terri) and Greg Adams (Valerie). In addition, she is survived by several nieces and nephews along with many special friends.
She attended the first graduating class of Delta High School in 1968. Ivy Tech was where she earned her certification as a Medical Assistant, then went on to graduate with honors from Anderson University with a degree in Nursing. She was employed for several years as a Registered Nurse with Ball Memorial Hospital, then later at Blackford Community Hospital. She retired in 2005.
She attended a United Pentecostal Church. She was a member of the National Nurses League, Sigma Zeta Thau honor society, and the Arthritis Foundation. She was an avid photographer, an artist of many forms, loved to cook for her family, and greatly loved all animals, especially Greta and Trooper and the Hummingbirds that at times she was able to convince them to be hand fed.
She was loved by many and never met a stranger. As she battled cancer, many have commented on the tremendous impact she had made on them.
Services will be held at Palmer Funeral Home-Welsheimer North Chapel at 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635 on Friday November 24th. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Celebration of her life at 11:00 A.M. Reverend David B. Murrell and Reverend Scott Bowie will be officiating. Visitation will also be held at Keplinger Funeral Home at 509 N. High St., Hartford City, IN 47348 on Saturday November 25th at 11:00 A.M to 12 Noon.
Jennifer has requested in leu of flowers that contributions in her name be made to the Arthritis Foundation which can be done at Arthritis.org or to St. Peter’s Recovery Connection at sbstpeters.org or mailed to 915 N Ironwood Dr., South Bend, IN 46615.
