Jenny Kay Shurley, 52, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 29, 2026. She was born on January 8, 1974, in Mishawaka, and lived her life with a quiet strength, a warm heart, and a deep love for her family.
Jenny was a high school graduate and spent her working years employed as an automotive painter. She took pride in doing her job well. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who faced life with resilience and who found meaning in the simple, everyday moments shared with the people she loved most.
Jenny was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara (Crofoot) Grose. She is survived by her father, James Grose; ex-husband, Raymond D. Shurley of Mishawaka, IN; her two daughters, Morgan Shurley (Tra Van Dusen) of Elkhart, IN, and Heather Meeks (Brandon Davis) of Mayflower, AR; and her two sons, Nathan Shurley (Stormy Grudzinski) of Mishawaka, and Garrett Shurley (Ashley Roberts) of Elkhart. Jenny also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren, who brought great joy to her life and were a constant source of pride and happiness. Jenny is also survived by her sister, Karen Miller of Elkhart, and her brother, Jimmy Grose of South Bend, IN.
In her personal time, Jenny especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved being surrounded by family and treasured the laughter, conversations, and memories they shared together. She also liked watching CSI episodes and found comfort and enjoyment in cooking.
Jenny will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was marked by love for her family, pride in her work, and appreciation for the simple joys that made life meaningful. Though her passing leaves a deep void, her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and in the many lives she touched throughout her years.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00pm on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Palmer Funeral Home—River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN.
