Jimmie Eugene Hensley

Jimmie Eugene Hensley Jr. was born to the late Jimmie Eugene Hensley Sr. and Shirley Ann Patesel Hensley on September 26, 1956, in Izmir Turkey.

Jimmie served in the U.S. Navy. After four years of service, he was honorably discharged. He retired as a union pipefitter for local 172 after 30 years of service.

Jimmie entered into eternal rest on July 13, 2026, at his home in South Bend, Indiana, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jimmie was a true Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed playing Keno, watching NASCAR, going to the casino, setting off fireworks shows, having cookouts, spending time with family and friends, and helping others.

Jimmie was an all-around cool, vibrant person to be around and have around at any setting.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Eugene Hensley Sr. and Shirley Ann Hensley; his siblings, Melody Jean Hensley Kelley, Lonnie Charles Hensley, and Lynn Marie Hensley Benton.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: His wife, Tracy Kinsey Hensley, his son, Brennan Hensley, Three daughters, Hannah (Zack) Hensley, Brie Hensley, and Jessie (Scott) Ambrose, one stepson, Keith Ryan Keene, one brother, William Lee (Melissa) Hensley; two grandchildren, Leah and Oaklee, A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends, and his four legged companion JayJay.

Funeral Services will be held at Palmer Funeral Homes – Welsheimer North Chapel on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 12:00 pm.  Friends may visit with family from 10:30 am until the start of services.  There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following the service at Jays Lounge II at 52890 SR 933 South Bend, IN. 46637.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
