Jimmie L. Winters, aged 58, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, in South Bend, IN, where his kind spirit and generous heart left a warmth that endures beyond his years. Born on
June 21, 1965, Jimmie carried the legacy of his beloved parents, the late Willie and Minnie Lou Winters, with grace and dedication throughout his life's journey.
Jimmie, a proud graduate of O'Bannon High School in Greenville, MS, was known for his cheerful demeanor, a firm handshake, and a friendly smile that could light up any room. His
contagious laughter and wise counsel endeared him to many within the community and his adored family.
He leaves behind a tapestry of memories cherished by his adoring nieces Keisha Stewart of Mississippi, Susanne Stewart of Tennessee, Veronica Harper of Mississippi, and his loving
nephews Salmen Winters of Mishawaka, Sammie Winters of South Bend, Willie Johnson of Dowagiac, MI, Edward Johnson of Greenwood, Willie Winters of Mississippi, and Albert Stewart
Jr. of Mississippi. He was predeceased by his siblings Lola Stewart, Mary Anne Johnson, Roosevelt Winters, Peter Winters, and Richard Winters, yet their shared stories and laughter will
resonate forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know them.
Jimmie's legacy is not merely in the milestones commemorated but in the daily acts of kindness that defined who he was as a son, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to experience his endearing and genuine presence.
At this time no services are to be held per the family’s wishes. Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46545 will be assisting the family with arrangements.
A private burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery at a later date.
