JoAnn Wernsing

JoAnn Wernsing, 85, of South Bend, IN passed away at 11:00a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Grand Emerald Place, South Bend. She was born on February 4, 1933 in Covington, KY, to the late William and Carrie (Wolf) Kiefer. On February 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Gerald C. Wernsing, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2015.

JoAnn is survived by daughters, Debbie Lower, Karen (Darrell) Nemeth, Mary (Kurt) Warner, all of South Bend, IN, and Michelle (Jason) Creighton of Carmel, IN; son, Jeffrey (Dawn) Wernsing of Cape Coral, FL; son-in-law, Charles Rospopo of South Bend; twelve grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathy Rospopo; grandson, Ryan Warner; son-in-law, Daniel Lower; and sister, Carol Menger.

JoAnn lived most of her life in South Bend.  She was a loving, dedicated wife and mother. 

Memorial services for JoAnn will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN. Interment of her ashes will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00-2:00pm on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
