Joan Marie (Pinter) Biltz

Joan Marie Biltz, age 87, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023, at the Ernestine Raclin Hospice House in Mishawaka, Indiana. Joan, a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother, was born on April 14, 1936, in South Bend, to the late Stephen and Mary (Meuleman) Pinter and remained a lifetime resident.

On April 14, 1956, Joan was united in marriage to Orlen Biltz at Sacred Heart Church, South Bend, Indiana.  Orlen preceded her in death on January 9, 2018.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Janice M. (Kent) Beutel of Osceola; son, Jay A. Biltz of Elkhart; grandchildren, Amy M. Hayden and Michael K. Beutel; her sister, Margaret Holinski of Mishawaka; sisters-in-law, Margaret Pinter and Carole Pinter; and brothers-in-law, Terry Biltz and William Krueger.  Joan was also preceded in death by two brothers, Stephen Pinter and James Pinter; her brother-in-law, David Hosinski; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Krueger.

Joan loved going on vacation with her husband; and loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed her time volunteering at Christ Child Society; and playing cards with her girlfriends.

She will be deeply missed by her family, who will forever hold her close in their hearts and celebrate the life they were privileged to share with her.

Joan was a member of St. Anthony dePadua Catholic Church, 2320 E. Jefferson Blvd. South Bend, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. at the church until time of services on Monday.
