Joanne K. (Cadwell) Conklin

Joanne K. (Cadwell) Conklin, 87, of South Bend passed away on Wednesday February 25, 2026, at Majestic Care in South Bend.

Joanne was born on June 10, 1938, in Michigan City, IN to the late Mervin and Elizabeth (Starks) Cadwell.

On January 18, 1960, she married Donald Conklin, sharing 62 years together before his passing in 2022.

Joanne is survived by her siblings; Mary Tevault Zelenski and Michael (Maureen) Tevault as well as her grandchildren; Jeremie Cronk and Cynthia (Larry) Cronk-Spikes and 4 great-grandchildren; Cody, Riley, Tifani, and Kelsey.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son; Verne Cronk, and her granddaughter; Colleen Cronk.

Special acknowledgment goes out to Joanne’s niece Angela Simpson with whom she shared a love of rock music and likeness of spirit.  In addition, her niece Sylvia (Bill) Bauer was always a source of help and strength for her.

A celebration of life is being planned for Joanne’s birthday, Wednesday June 10, 2026, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel.  Times will be announced closer to the date of services.

Joanne was a huge supporter of the Pets Connect Foundation and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to them.
