John C. Holderread

John C. Holderread, 68 years old, passed away at 1:38 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024 at his home.  John was born on February 17, 1956 in Plymouth to the late Walter and Eva (Flora) Holderread.  He has remained a lifelong area resident.  On August 27, 1976 at Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, John and Angela M. Stump were united in marriage in an outdoor ceremony. 

Along with Angela, his loving wife of 47 years, John is survived by their daughter, Shannon (Nathan) Mitchell of Plymouth; brother, Kerry Holderread of Plymouth; and niece, Rachael (David Sliter) Holderread and their son, Logan. 

John retired from Bay Valley Foods.  He was a member of Christ Chapel and ABATE.  John was a past volunteer coordinating Gospel singers for the Blueberry Festival in Plymouth.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Christ Chapel, 3402 S. Locust Road, South Bend, IN.  Pastor Stephen Sumrall will officiate.  A private burial will take place at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty.  Palmer Funeral Home in Lakeville is assisting the family.
