John W. Richards

John W. Richards, 87, of Mishawaka, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in his residence.  John was born on December 18, 1933, in Marion, IN to Bernard and Georgia Richards.  On May 15, 1957, in Gas City, IN John married JoAnn Peters.  JoAnn survives along with their children, Elaine DeWitt of Mishawaka, IN, John (Kristi) Richards of Union Mills, IN and Stephanie (Steve) Ringhoffer of Mishawaka, IN; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Ann Atkinson of Thunder Lake, Minnesota.   John graduated at Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and worked as an inspector in the popcorn industry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army being honorably discharged on February 28, 1959.  There will be no visitation or services.  Cremation will take place. John’s family will be remembering him with a celebration of life at a later date.
