Joseph Q. Curd, Sr., age 28, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 10, 2026, in South Bend, Indiana.

He was born on October 13, 1997, in Milwaukee, WI, and spent his formative years living and growing up in Chicago before later making his home in South Bend. Joseph was a high school graduate whose life was marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a warm presence that touched those around him.

Joseph was employed as a cook at Crooked Ewe Brewery, where he was known for his dedication, steady work ethic, and the pride he took in doing his job well. He approached his responsibilities with care and consistency, and he valued the friendships and connections he made through his work.

Family was central to Joseph’s life. He is survived by his mother, Latasha A. Marzette of Dallas, TX; his daughter, Meilah Jo Curd; his son, Joseph “Jojo” Curd, Jr.; his fiancée, Madisyn Philpot of South Bend; his paternal grandmother, Jannette Curd; his sister, Brenda Marzette of South Bend; and his brothers, Elliott D. Curd, Jr. and Adrian D. Curd, Sr., both of South Bend. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Elliott D. Curd, Sr.; grandmothers, Brenda J. and Alma; and cousin, Passion.

Joseph will be remembered as a loving father, a devoted son, a caring brother, and a loyal companion. He carried himself with a quiet strength and a genuine concern for the people in his life. His children were a source of great pride and joy, and he treasured the time he spent with his family and loved ones.

Though his time on earth was far too brief, Joseph’s life was filled with meaningful relationships and lasting impressions. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love and respect by all who were blessed to know him.
