Joseph J. Kelly, 75, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at the Center for Hospice, Ernestine M. Raclin House.
Joseph was born on January 27, 1951, in Augsburg, Germany, to Joseph E. Kelly and Maria (Unzeitg) Kelly. He later made his home in South Bend, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and friendship.
Joseph worked as an agent in the transportation industry for Keystone Logistics for many years. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependable nature, and caring spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Judith (Butler) Kelly, whom he married on December 31, 1977, and who passed away on June 28, 2016 and his daughter Susan Stachowiak who was born on June 1, 1966, and passed on May 1, 2015.
Joseph is survived by his daughters, Lynda (Daniel) Rojics of Osceola, Donna (Randy) Kaps of South Bend, and Frances (David) Rosa of Tiverton, Rhode Island. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, along with a loving niece and nephew. He is further survived by his siblings, Deborah (John Urbas) Spears, Linda Bell, Rosemary (Wesley) Kruss, Johanna Unzeitig, and Lewis (Neta) Kelly.
Celebration of Life at 3:00pm, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Palmer Funeral Homes, Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46545, with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.
Joseph will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his quiet strength, and the kindness he showed to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
