Joseph Allan Rupert

Joseph A. Rupert, 54, of South Bend passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  He was born January 17, 1967 in South Bend to Walter and Dorothy (Evans) Rupert. Joe loved adventure from an early age and left his home in Indiana to venture to California when he was 18 years old. He made a great life for himself in California and eventually met his lifelong partner and wife, Pamela (England) Rupert. Together they created a great life for themselves and their children. Joe and his family made their way back to Joe’s hometown of South Bend in 2003 where they continued to grow their lives.

Throughout Joe’s life he took on many roles. He worked mainly as an automotive mechanic but was also a handyman and jack of all trades.  He had a passion for fixing and remodeling classic cars, and throughout his years in California was able to completely remodel one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Outside of his love for all things car related, Joe enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter and demolition derbies throughout the summer. Joe had a heart of gold and was everyone’s go-to guy; he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Joe is survived by his wife, Pam; daughters, Jennifer (Noah Neuerburg) Kocsis of South Bend, IN, Cayla (TJ) Gray of South Bend, IN, and Nastassia (Adrian) Weakland of Burbank, CA; son, Kenny Sexton of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren, Hudson, Amelia, Reagan, Corbin, Keegan and Callahan; mother, Dorothy Rupert of South Bend, IN; sisters, Dawn Reynolds of Mishawaka, IN and Kim (Ben) St. Clair of South Bend, IN; and brothers, Jeff Rupert of South Bend, IN and Jason Rupert of South Bend, IN; and countless nieces and nephews.  Joe is preceded in death by his father, Walter Rupert; son, Sean Sexton; son-in-law, Kyle Kocsis; and sister, Shelly Rupert.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1PM at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, IN 46635.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
