Joshua W. Richardson, 46, of Buchanan, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2026. He was born on April 26, 1979. He was preceded in death by both his father, Paul Richardson, and his mother, Cynthina Scherrer.
Throughout his career, Josh worked as a chef. He enjoyed making dishes that brought joy to the people he fed and using his skills and creativity in the kitchen.
Josh was a funny, friendly guy who never knew a stranger. He was an avid movie watcher, loved music of all kinds, and his dog, Lady Bird. He was a devoted Raiders fan-and proudly not a Cowboys fan. With his big heart and up-for-anything nature, he was always open to adventure and lived life with a spirit of openness, humor and honesty...sometimes too much honesty.
Josh deeply loved his niece and nephews and enjoyed every minute he spent with them. They will miss him dearly, but will forever remember his laughter, presence and the way he made them feel special.
He is survived by his brother, Roger (Leeann) Alcala of New Carlisle, along with his nieces and nephews: Dakota (Lexi), Bishop (Kileigh), Duston, and Emilee. He will be missed not only by his family, but also by all of the close friends and adopted nieces & nephews he made along life’s journey.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place with a Celebration of life taking place at a later date.
