Joyce C. Shirley

Joyce C. Shirley, 68, of South Bend, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Center for Hospice.  Joyce was born January 31, 1951 in Bremen, Indiana, to the late Eldon Devon and Mary A. (Hall) Hartzell.  She graduated from Nappanee High School.   On April 20, 1985 in Nappanee, she married Charles W. Shirley; he survives.

Joyce was an LPN with several different nursing homes as well as working at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center - Mishawaka.  She attended Hepton Union Church in Nappanee.

Surviving with her husband, Charles of South Bend, are their children, Amanda L. Shirley of Lakeville; son, Timothy W. (Brittany) Shirley of Plymouth; one grandson, Mason Shirley; sister, Sharon K. (Marvin) Eversdyke of Milford, PA; brother, Richard D. (Theresa) Hartzell of Nappanee.  Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Jeremy Hartzell.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 North Michigan Street, Lakeville.  Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at Southlawn Cemetery.
