Judith E. Cox

Judith E. (Ebersole) Cox, 73, of Mishawaka passed away on Wednesday May 20, 2026, at Trailpoint in South Bend.

Judy was born on September 16, 1952, in Cincinnati, OH to the late Ransom and Beatrice (Smith) Ebersole.

On April 27, 1974, she married John Cox and the two have shared 52 years together. 

Judy’s favorite leisure activities included reading and cooking. Her family reaped the benefits of her cooking for many fun years at holidays, birthdays, and “just because” occasions. Judy was also a very good seamstress. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family, friends, & especially her precious grandchildren. Judy worked for several bookstores over the years as well as the office manager for Deer Run Church of Christ. 

She is survived by her husband, John, her daughter, Christie (Wayne) Bieck, son, Brian (Monica) Cox, grandchildren; Kayla (Diego) Reyes, Jordan Bieck, and Katelyn Bieck, 2 great-grandchildren; Mateo and Benny Reyes, and her brother, Ranson (Sharon) Ebersole.  Also surviving is brother-in-law Steve Westman and sisters in law Carol (Ray) Huddleson and Marilyn (Andy) Auman along with many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Valinda Westman.

Memorial visitation for Judith will be held from 10am-11am on Saturday June 6, 2026, at the West side Church of Christ, 22987 Edison Rd. South Bend.  A memorial service will begin at 11am.  She will be interred at a later date at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Judy’s name may be made to the West side Church of Christ.
