Judith A. Godfrey

Judith A. Godfrey, 81, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at her residence in Granger, IN. She was born on April 28, 1940 in South Bend, to Thomas and Dollie (Waugh) Wooldridge, both of whom preceded her in death.

On December 18, 1965 in South Bend, Judith married James W. Godfrey, who preceded her in death on May 26, 2001.

Judith is survived by her two sons, James T. Godfrey (Tonya Cuthbert) of Granger and Andrew W. Godfrey (Marty Hendricks), both of Elkhart Indiana; six grandchildren, Kayla, Joseph, Alec, Alissa, Katelyn, and Andrew Tirotta; and seven great-grandchildren, Jackson Godfrey, Jase, Cameron, Parker, Mannix, Madalyn, and Selena.

Judith was employed in the acquisitions department of the St. Joseph County Public Library from 1958-2008. She was a lifelong resident of South Bend. She was an avid fan of Doug Church’s tribute to Elvis from the early years at Shoops in Plymouth Indiana and a fan of NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. Judith also enjoyed cookouts on Sunday with family. However, her greatest love was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Funeral services for Judith will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. Pastor Ben Webb will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00-3:00pm on Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
