Judith Petrasovits Obituary

Judith "Judy" Petrasovits, a cherished member of the South Bend community, passed away peacefully in her hometown on January 12, 2026, at the age of 83. Judy was born on December 12, 1942, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late John and Julia (Varga) Petrasovits, and was a proud graduate of South Bend Clay High School class of 1960. She furthered her passion for caring for others by earning her associate's degree in nursing, which led to a fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

A woman of many interests, Judy's love of travel took her on memorable trips to Alaska, and she held fond memories of her time living in California, especially enjoying the vibrant San Francisco area. An exceptional cook, she found joy in preparing meals and exploring different cuisines. Her delight in hunting for treasures at garage sales was only matched by the pleasure she found in spending time with her loving family.

Beloved sister to the late Sharon Troutman, Carol Pitcher, Sue Petrasovits, and Louis Petrasovits, Judy's legacy of warmth and generosity lives on through her family members. She is survived by her adoring niece, Barbara (Robert) Simms, and nephew, Jack (Sabrina) Pitcher. Judy also held a special place in her heart for her great-nieces and nephews, cherishing every moment she spent with them and sharing the love she had for life.

A long-time parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger, Indiana, Judy's faith was a cornerstone of her life and provided her with strength and solace throughout her years.
