Karen Ann Bauer

Karen Ann Bauer, 85, residing in South Bend, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 15, 1936 in South Bend to Frank Connett and Anita (Grim) Connett, who both preceded her in death.

Karen was united in marriage September 28, 1957, to Richard E. Bauer, Jr., who preceded her in death on November 19, 2021.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Amy Shanholt of Elkhart; her sons, Richard E. Bauer, III, Steven Bauer, and Timothy (Julie) Bauer, all of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Katie (Darren) Huffman, Cory (Michelle) Bauer, Paige (Frankie) Laskowski, Ben Bauer, Taylor Montague, Zachary Hover, and Jordyn (Bryce Parrish) Shanholt; 12 great grandchildren; and her brother, Leon Connett of South Bend.

Memorial services will be held 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2022, with visitation from 2 – 4 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Homes – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN 46615.
