Kimberly L. Leed

Kimberly L. Leed, 61 years old, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.  Kim was born on November 1, 1960, in Marshall County, IN a daughter to her parents Harvey Leed and Becky Hummel Leininger. 

Kimberly resided in Lapaz, Indiana and the surrounding area for most of her life and was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lapaz American Legion Post 383. Kimberly was known for her extremely hard work ethic and the love of her children and grandchildren. She extended that same love to her family and friends. She was notoriously known for her giving nature, often giving her last $5 to anyone that needed it. Her favorite pastime besides spending time with family was cuddling up in her robe and pajamas which was rare given how hard she worked. She loved to laugh and laughed the hardest at herself. She always greeted her family and friends with a hug and hello. If she loved you, you knew it.

Kimberly leaves behind her family: father Harvey Leed, daughter Tiffany White of Nappanee, IN and stepdaughter, Cory Smith of Mishawaka, IN; sons Christopher (Kelly Gorney) Leed of Plymouth, IN, and Travis Mechling of Lapaz, IN; sisters Wendy (Dave) Tapia of Plymouth, IN, Regina Kaser of Lapaz, IN, Autumn (Shane) Rucker of Argos, IN and Jennifer Leed of Plymouth, IN; brothers Tracy Leed of Lapaz, IN, Shane (Shellie) Leed of South Bend, IN, Cody (Kim) Leed of Argos, IN, Randy (Colleen) Gaines of Ohio, Bill (Jodie) Gaines of LaPorte, IN and Tanner Leed of Plymouth, IN; grandchildren Austin Andert, Braxton Leed, Nathaniel Gorney, Kyle Mechling, Brayden Bare and Gabrielle Bare. Kimberly is also survived by friends who were touched by her love.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty IN.
