Kristine M Burkus

Kristine “Kris” M. Burkus, 52 years old, passed away on Thursday morning, May 3rd, 2018, at Hospice House – South Bend.  Kris was born on December 23rd, 1965 in South Bend to Ben R. and Marlene L. (Schini) Jagla, who survive.

Kris is also survived by two daughters, Nicole Burkus and Paige Burkus, both of South Bend; and one sister, Julie (Tim) Mayo of Tyler, Texas; and nieces Audra mayo of Goshen and Reba Mayo of Tyler, Texas. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, friends, and neighbors throughout the Michiana area.

Kris was a lifelong resident of South Bend. She worked in Accounts Receivable for South Bend Orthopedics.

The family world like to extend their heartfelt acknowledgements to the Tom and Ruth Rogers Family for all of their support. Additionally, the family would like to acknowledge all of the foundations, hospitals and healthcare providers in the Michiana area who so diligently cared for Kris during her lengthy battle with cancer.

A celebration of Kris’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.  Pastor Bob Vale will officiate.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
