Larry G. Brown, Sr.

Mr. Larry G. Brown, Sr., 68, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Larry was born on March 17, 1951 to the late Wendell and Alberta (Hayes) Brown.

Larry was a talented musician who made his living playing music. He was a life-long resident of the area. On February 13, 1973, Larry was united in marriage to Elizabeth Naomi Gladney, who preceded him in death on August 5, 2010. Larry enjoyed the time he got to spend with his loved ones and was a devoted, loving father and cherished grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  

Larry is survived by his children: step-daughter Shyreese (Douglas) Pompey of California, daughter Regina Brown of California, son Larry G. (Elisha) Brown, Jr. of South Bend and daughter Rachel Pritzel-Brown of California. Larry is also survived by his siblings: Frankie Brown of South Bend, Denise Brown of South Bend, Darryl Brown of South Bend, Paula Kelley of South Bend and Vanessa (Lynn) Meinerding-Brown of South Bend; as well as twenty-two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, Elizabeth, Larry was preceded in death by his son, Michael Brown, on June 15, 2018 and three siblings: Ernestine Brown, Charles Brown and Paul Brown.

Services for Mr. Larry G. Brown, Sr. will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Homes – West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628.
