Larry Chipps

Larry D. Chipps Sr., 67, of Mishawaka, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, after an extended illness. A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held at Palmer Funeral Home -Bubb Chapel, 3910 North main Street, Mishawaka from 3:00 pm -7:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2026. Larry was born on February 12, 1958, in Ohio and was the son of Jackson and Lizene Chipps.

On October 5, 1991, he married Brenda Donath at Shiojiri Niwa Gardens in Mishawaka. Larry was employed for 32 years by AM General Corporation in Mishawaka and was a proud member of the UAW, Local 5 throughout his employment. He was an avid fan of wrestling and football and enjoyed following his beloved LA Lakers. 

Larry will be missed by his three sons, Larry Jr. (Brandi) of Portland, OR, Chester (C.J.) Holt (Stacey) of Valparaiso, IN; and John Patrick (Lori) Donath of Corpus Christi, TX as well as two brothers, James and Terry, and a sister, Sandy all of Mishawaka. He also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his one brother, Jack and his wife, Barbara along with a nephew, Jeremy. Larry's family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka for their extraordinary care and support in a most difficult time.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be at Palmer Funeral Home ~Bubb Chapel, Friday, January 9, 2026 from 3:00pm ~ 7:00pm

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
