Larry Hardin, Sr. Obituary

Larry Lee Hardin, devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend departed this life after a lengthy illness on May 17, 2018 in Orlando, FL. Larry was born in South Bend, IN to Louis Gilbert and Lillie Mae (Belford) Hardin on August 19, 1953.

Larry was the proud father of eight children: La Rae, La June, and Larry Lee Hardin (mother June Willie), LaRue Gilbert, Lawrence Lee, La Lisa Ann, Brittany and Lareen Fuchs (mother Melissa Hardin).

Cherishing his fond memories are his loving wife, Melissa; nine siblings: Eddie Frank of Aurora, IL; Myra Lois Mylin of Holly Springs, MS; Noreen of Rochester, NY; Annie Pearl Hardin-Harris, Calvin Bernard, Leatha Denise, Mary Lois, Wyvonia and Shantia Marin Hardin, all of South Bend. Also cherishing his memories are three uncles: Rosco Mitchell of Holly Springs, MS, Arthur Hardin of Aurora, IL and Lonzo Hardin of Rochester, NY; two aunts, Amelia Brandon and Gertrude Kinard, both of Rochester, NY.

Missing someone dear to his heart are his grandchildren: Larry Jamaron, Lariyah Lee, LeeAnn Janee, Forest Jamar, Jr., Angela, Ta’Maj, Jahki, Marcel, Alijah, Ter’oon, Talarra, Alearra, Tiquawn, Valley, Tasanna, Jewel, Isaiah, Ruby, Arlem, Lorenzo, La Rue, Jr. and Todge; nephews Terry Burton; his sons, Valente, Vasaaje, Vamare and Brayden Burton. Dareen, Tirrell Williams, Sr. and Tirrell Williams, Jr., Eugene Williams, his children: E’jay, Eugene Jr., Dalana, Keith Solon, Calvin Jr., Amendo Hardin and his sons: Tyan Amendo, Jr., William, Stephen, Stephon, Dajhon, Joseph Newbill, Ja’Lila, Aireal, Tahsheanna and Ver’Shawn, Avanta, Howard, Darren Diggins, Joseph White; nieces Tammy (Solomon), Kesha (Fred), Gwen, Shirley, Phyllis (Derrick), Regina, Diserra, Amber, Zara, Charmee, Jessica, Alivia (Darren) Daryn, Nicole, Marie, Ra’Nque, Denisa, JaHarie, Desiree, De’Aja, Shelia, Terra, Cira, Sequida, Bishop, Quinton, Tyzarre, Promise, My’Onna, Terence, Takeyon, Kinyon and Karmaron; sister-in-law Rhonda Joann Knights; brother-in-law David Roy Frohwerk.

Preceding Larry in death are his parents; one brother, Alvester Burton; grandparents Gilbert and Trully Hardin and grandmother Ma Minnie; brother-in-law Norman Kelly Knight and nephew Calvin Lee Lewis.

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Hardin, Sr. will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Church Ministries, 313 Ohio Street, South Bend. Friends may call on the family for visitation for one hour prior to service at the church. Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
