Larry G. Lemert, Sr.

Larry G. Lemert, Sr., 87, residing in North Liberty, IN; passed away at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Walkerton, IN.  He was born May 18, 1935 in Tyner, IN; a son of the late Kenneth & Martha (Kesler) Lemert.

 On August 10, 1985 at the Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church in South Bend, Larry was united in marriage to Joyce Blosser who passed away on July 20, 2015 following thirty years of marriage.

Larry is survived by his daughters, Roxane (Jesse) Minix of North Judson, IN; and Lorie Sauer of South Bend, IN; two sons, Mike (Gail) Lemert of New Paris, IN; Mark (Maria) Lemert of Plymouth, IN.  Also surviving are step-children, Brenda (David) Shaffer of Elkhart, IN; Kay Bergland of North Liberty, IN; Karen (Dick) Bogard  and Mark Blosser both of South Bend, IN.  In addition, he is survived by sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Sally (Joe) Bottorff of Plymouth, IN; and Kay Williams of Walkerton, IN; and daughter-n-law Donna Lemert of Plymouth and brother-in-law, Roy (Carolyn) Toone of Salt Lake City, UT.

 He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Lemert, Jr. and grandchildren, Paige Minix, Tyler Bergland, and Zachary Shaffer as well as his brother, Fred Lemert.

Larry retired as a Supervisor at International Wire following 30 years of employment.  He adored his grandkids, and enjoyed driving his scooter to the Donut Shop “Over the Top Bakery” in the mornings to see his friends and also enjoyed watching the Notre Dame women’s basketball games.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 201 North Main Street, North Liberty, IN.  Graveside services will follow the visitation at Westlawn Cemetery with Rev. Charles Kreig officiating.  Contributions in memory of Larry may be offered to the North Liberty Police Dept., P.O. Box 516, North Liberty, IN 46554.
