June 8, 1937 ~ November 15, 2023 (age 86) 86 Years Old
Larry A. Munger, 86 years old, passed away at 2:06 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Elkhart General Hospital. Larry was born on June 8, 1937 in California, MO to the late Alfred and Helen (Broadnax) Munger. He has lived most of his life in South Bend. On December 30, 2004 in Syracuse, IN, Larry and Carol M. Cosgrove were united in marriage.
Along with Carol, his loving wife, Larry is survived by his three daughters, Kimberly, Tammy, and Denelli; two sons, Ty and Larry (Adora); two step-daughters, Shantelle (Mike) and Tammy; and one step-son, Chad (Ashley); and 9 grandchildren, Keona, Kyla, Haley, Taylor, Bradley, Jordan, Jade, Colin (Brittany) and Jessica (Kyle). Larry is also survived by his sister, Glenda Walcott of Estero, FL and brother, Terry Munger of Lakeville. Larry was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Philip Crone; brother, Harry “Sonny” Munger; sister-in-law, Susan Munger; and brother-in-law, Bob Walcott.
Larry retired from CTS Automotive in Elkhart at the age of 80. He proudly served his country with the United State Marine Corps.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Pastor Tim Stewart will officiate. Private graveside services will be held at Violett Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
